Hey! I’m Sasha, I’ve been working for the last 10 years as a production designer. I graduated from the Russian State University of Cinematography in 2017 and have been working on a wide range of projects ever since — feature and short films, historical series, commercials, and music videos.
My experience includes designing decorations from a range of historical periods and cultures, including the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as the 20s, 60s, 90s of the 20th century, modernity. While most of my work has been studio-based, I have also worked on-location with real interiors, buildings, and streets. But I don’t just stick to the realistic stuff — I’ve also created abstract decorative sets. I worked on a project with levitating ice cream, water pools with projections, floristics, and miniatures.
Aside from filmmaking, I’m also a multidisciplinary artist with a keen interest in ceramics, sculpture, painting, and printing. My passion lies in working with materials, colors, textures, and set-building technologies. I’m always exploring and trying to find my spot in the world of visual arts, but it seems my place is not a spot, but a path.
When I’m not busy creating beautiful visual worlds, I love to hike, swim, and explore the great outdoors. And on those rainy days when I’m stuck inside, you can usually find me covered in paint, working on my artistic experimentation.
